The nine hole Vidago course was inaugurated in 1936 and forms part of the beautiful Parque das Termas de Vidago - the ideal spot for a complete rest. Although it is only nine holes, the historic Vidago course should not disappoint the golfer, for its layout is both technically correct and quite beautiful. Surrounded by the varied flora of Northern Portugal, notably the pine trees, cedars and oaks, the area itself is a refreshing tonic. The most beautiful holes are numbers 4 and 5, laid out along the slopes of the mountain. The first one offers a panoramic view over much of the course, while the second affords an unforgettable view of the village of Vidago. A stream is brought into play at holes 6, 7, 8 and 9, the latter being the longest and most difficult on the course (470 meters). The bunkers are fairly evenly distributed and at holes 1 and 7, these are very much obstacles to be reckoned with, because of their size and depth. This is the only course in the Trás-os-Montes region, and the Vidago spa is itself well worth a visit. Nearest Accommodation: Pousada Alijó I Accommodation in the Area
